Helping Women Pursue Happiness

Essential Skills for an Extraordinary Life

Marta is preparing to offer these workshops in Spring 2008.  In each workshop, Marta will present the topic and then lead the participants through a guided meditation.

Create your Inner Sacred Garden

An introduction to guided meditation

In this session, you will learn how to use your breath to change your focus from the outer world to your inner world.  You will experience the wonder of connecting with your soul without outside distractions.  You will discover an inner sacred garden where you can return again and again to revive your spirit and consult your inner wisdom.

Exploring the Life Wheel

Using your inner wisdom to gain new perspective
Watch here for new 2008 schedule

We will take a look at the eight segments of the life wheel. In a gentle inner process, you will evaluate your satisfaction with the eight areas of the Life Wheel – Career, Health & Well-being, Finances, Primary Relationships, Home & Surroundings, Family & Friends, Fun & Recreation, and Spirituality. You will then look to your inner wisdom for an action step designed to radically shift the area of your life that is least satisfying to you.

The Cost of People-pleasing

Where do you give away your power?
Watch here for new 2008 schedule

How far will you go to keep the peace? How much of your authentic self do you hide in order to be acceptable? We give up parts of ourselves in order to get along, avoid conflict, and fit in. Sometimes we care more about others’ opinions than we care about our own. You will look at the ways you have deleted your own unique personality to make room for someone else’s programming. We will end by consulting your inner wisdom for an action step to support you in reclaiming a part of yourself you had hidden away.

Are You Wearing Your Oxygen Mask?

We are told at the beginning of a flight that if there is an emergency, first put on your own oxygen mask and then help those around you. You’re already thinking, “I know, I know. I’ve heard it before – I should take care of myself first. But how?” In this session, you will take an honest look at how automatically you put everyone else’s needs and wants ahead of your own, even to the point of sacrificing your emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being. You will turn to your inner wisdom for an action step for the week that will allow you to begin to shift this pattern.

Asking for Help Without Feeling Helpless

Making requests from a position of strength and confidence
Watch here for new 2008 schedule

We’ve all heard jokes making fun of men who refuse to ask for directions, but often women are equally reluctant to ask for assistance. Take a look at your to-do list – how often do you ask for help in getting things done? Think for a moment about a goal you have almost given up on. How might you be able to reach it if you had a little help? In this session, learn to make a request without feeling needy, desperate, or in the one-down position in the relationship. Listen to your inner wisdom and design a powerful request you can make in the next few days that will make your life easier, improve a relationship, or move you toward a long-held goal. Discover how freeing this can be.

Are We Having Fun Yet?

Where is joy on your priority list?
Watch here for new 2008 schedule

When did you last write an event on your calendar that was purely for fun? What do you do on a regular basis that is simply for your personal enjoyment? Do you expect the relaxation you need to just happen in between all the must-do items on your list of tasks? Chances are that fun isn’t something you see as a need and priority. We will find the activities that bring you the most joy and laughter, then design an action step to build them into your life as regularly as vacuuming the carpet.

The Language of Emotion

Rediscovering Feelings
Watch here for new 2008 schedule

Can you name ten words that describe emotion? How about twenty? The English language has a plethora of words to express feelings. In this busy, goal-driven culture, you may have become so numb that you have forgotten the language of emotion. In this session, you will rediscover a myriad of ways to express how you feel. More importantly, you will explore the benefits of being conscious of your emotions rather than numbing out. You will leave with an action step to integrate this lost skill back into your everyday life.

Crazy Busy

Life is a rat race – and the rats are winning
Watch here for new 2008 schedule

How often do you sit down to a leisurely, healthy, home-cooked meal with your loved ones? This is one measure of how busy our lives have become. Are you sacrificing sleep to do work from the office or finish up another load of laundry? Do you know what was the best thing in your spouse’s (or child’s) life today? The worst? In this session, you will first explore the path that led you to a fast-paced life, then identify what you truly value and wish to honor, and end with an action step designed to bring that which feeds your soul back into your daily life.
